Saturday night I played at Ketas Lounge off of Rising Sun Ave here in Philly. The bar/restaurant was hosting “Battle of the Sexes” for its third repeat performance. The event has always sold out, with men and women packing the bar to both participate in the discussion and defend their sex. Pitting men against women it highlighted everything from “Are women smarter than men,” to “Who makes a better love?” There was even an advice quiz with questions such as “Do you think your game is tight, and how can you prove it?” You can’t imagine the hyped banter from a crowd provoked with questions, set against each other, and then told to share one mic. It was wild!
I have never played at such a sexually charged event, but I definitely had a good time. I hope it shows up on my venue reel again. If so, you won’t want to miss out on great discussion, big laughs, and of course some bangin’ acoustic music provided by yours truly.
