I think me and Jon Foreman probably ate the same breakfast because his article on heroes is kinda a lot like my praise-rant of Anis Mojgani (how many times can I say his name on my blog in the next week? lol). Actually while I was writing about Anis I was thinking “Jon Foreman is another authentic soul, I should write something about him.” Funny how that happens.
Jon Foreman is the lead singer of Switchfoot, a big time Christian band. He’s also the minds, brains, vocals, and hands behind four EP’s and the counter part of Fiction Family. The guy is ON FIRE when it comes to lyrical genius. No subject is to weighty to be crammed into a verse. He’ll sing about anything. Needless to say he’s a personal hero of mine… I wrote Superman 3 years ago after listening to a Switchfoot song. It simply gave me permission to speak my mind through my music. I think that’s why I’m so in love with his music. Recently he wrote an essay that was published in the Huffington Post. Check the link and agree, Jon Foreman is one of the visionary minds that will help “we the system of the United States” through our “current climate of fear and debt.” Cheers Jon Foreman. You hit it on the money (wink).
