Living in Color

“One of the greatest moments in anybody’s developing experience is when he no longer tries to hide from himself but determines to get acquainted with himself as he really is.” -Norman Vincent Peal
“Live with your whole being all the days of your life! Your reward will be true happiness!” -Rebecca Thomas Shaw
“Youth is, after all, just a moment, but it is the moment, the spark that you always carry in your heart.” -Raisa Gorbachev

I hate it when people give up on a childhood dream. Because usually when they do that they give up on passion. Passions and emotions can be dangerous because they have the power possess you and ultimately blind you. Nobody wants to be blind, life is to fast live it like that. Passions come attached with pain, highs and lows, and all those unique views about life that are often times conflicting with society. But when you dare to be passionate you are inevitably saying that life is worth the living. When you choose a life of passion you are deciding to live and not just exist.
I believe that God put us here so that we, in our sin, our shame, and our triumph, could ultimately prove through every circumstance (good or bad) that God is right. That Truth, Love, and Grace will always succeed. I believe that whatever path you follow in life you will ultimately come to the conclusion that Jesus is everything. But that’s only if your heart is open to him. I believe that everything has a good side and everything has a bad side and you can choose which side you want to be on by simply opening your heart to either or.
And in this way, if you choose to live a life of passion you are living the life God asked you to live. He is passion because he is Love. And love is a beautiful thing because it is not something you can nail down. You can trust it, but you can’t control it. Which is the same for life.
So I guess that in a round about way it’s good to be passionate. It’s good to dream. And that like the Bible points out, a youthful heart is a precious thing to have. Don’t give it up.
